Thirty Thoughts

The THIRTY march forward.

Thirty Knights Templar entrusted with the fabled “Templar Treasure” move into a tale of mysticism, metaphor and symbolism. Moving through worlds they do not fully understand, but know from their dreams, they move forward. Moving through Ptolemey’s crystal Spheres, they encounter energies and entities as they find themselves on an epic task that is — literally — beyond imagination.

I’m over 50,000 words. This is the largest thing I’ve written since ORKWORLD. As the knights keep marching, I find myself in a trap. What began as a “little game about a big treasure” has become a “big game about a little treasure.”

I’m too close to it now. It’s filled with all the stuff I’ve been studying over the last year. The Masonic Craft, Thelemic magic, Qabbalic theory…

The knights are on a spiritual journey… and so am I. I’m discovering what all these myths and symbols really mean to me.

The knights began in the Sphere of Shapes and Forms: our world. They moved on to through Ptolemey’s progression: the Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars… and each step they take, they get closer to the final Sphere… the Tenth Sphere…

The Face of God.

Right now, they’ve come across a stopping point. A place of no hope, no symbols, no metaphors. No meaning.

You see, in Ptolemey’s structure, each Sphere is crystaline, refracting the Light of God in a different way. When it shines through the Sphere of Mars, it refracts warfare and conflict. When it shines through Venus, it is unbridled passion and the regret that comes with it. When it shines through the Moon… God’s Light sends us everything we ever imagined.

But there is a missing planet. A ruined planet. A defiled planet. A planet who’s only heritage is rock and rubble.

And there is a missing Sphere. A ruined Sphere. A defiled Sphere. A Sphere who’s only heritage is… well, you understand.

Every planet is named after a God. Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Pluto…

Between Mars and Jupiter, there is a graveyard for a dead planet. We do not know its name. There are names that we call it, but we do not know it’s True Name. And before the Knights can go any further, before they can climb to the next Sphere, they must discover it’s True Name.

And when they do, they will know the meaning of despair.

I am there now. There with them. And I don’t know how to get them out.
