Dancing! Dancing! Dancing! Dancing Machine!
It’s been a while. Okay, that’s not true anymore. But, I have gone dancing more in the last three weeks than I have in the last eight months. Twice. God, I missed it. So, I danced.
It was a squad of co-workers, and there should be plenty of blackmail pictures. I’ll see if I can post any of them later.
Also, last night delivered a revelation. I’m still giving off the “Off the market” vibe. One co-worker said, “I thought you were gay!” Another said, “Aren’t you with somebody?” So, I danced.
This sweet young thing was there. She asked me, “How old are you?” I told her, “Old enough to be your father.”
It was a joke. Then, I realized, I was telling the truth.
Suddenly, I felt very old. So, I danced.
Came back home to D&A’s place. I crashed on their couch. Not because of liquor, but sheer exhaustion. It was a helluva night… a bit awakening in a lot of ways.
I’m too old to be single. I hate dating. I love dancing. But, my favorite partner is in Long Beach. And so far, nobody even comes close to comparing.
Sitting In Limbo
(Jimmy Cliff
Sitting here in Limbo
Waiting for the tide turn.
Yeah, now, sitting here in Limbo,
So many things I’ve got to learn.
Meanwhile, they’re putting up a resistance,
But I know that my faith will lead me on.
Sitting here in Limbo
Waiting for the dice to roll.
Yeah, now, sitting here in Limbo,
Still got some time to search my soul.
Meanwhile, they’re putting up a resistance,
But I know that my faith will lead me on.
I don’t know where life will take me,
But I know where I have been.
I don’t know what life will show me,
But I know what I have seen.
Tried my hand at love and friendship,
That is past and gone.
And now it’s time to move along.
Sitting here in Limbo
Like a bird ain’t got a song.
Yeah, I’m sitting here in Limbo
And I know it won’t be long
‘Til I make my getaway, now.
Gonna lead me on now.
Meanwhile, they’re putting up resistance,
But I know that my faith will lead me on.
Sitting in Limbo, Limbo, Limbo.
Sitting in Limbo, Limbo, Limbo.
Sitting in Limbo, Limbo, Limbo.
Meanwhile, they’re putting up a resistance,
But I know that my faith will lead me on.
The wake-up stick
ME: Dude — I’m fully ready for the orange robes. Monk time. I don’t know what’s wrong with women today, but they are PSYCHOTIC. I’m not even looking for a date, and I get drama. I’m ready. I hear it only takes thirty years to get the tiger and dragon tattoo. If we hurry, we can do it in twenty!
ME:: Huh?
TREKHEAD: “Master, how long does it take to finish training?”
TREKHEAD: “Twenty years.”
TREKHEAD: “If I work hard at my training to the exclusion of all else, how long?”
TREKHEAD: “Thirty years.”
TREKHEAD: “What if I train day and night, doing nothing else, only waking and training from dawn to dusk?”
TREKHEAD: “Fourty years.”
TREKHEAD: “How can it be that it takes longer the harder I work?”
TREKHEAD: “The more you focus on one thing, the more you miss the importance of the rest of the world.”
ME: <-- gets hit with wakeup stick

The Cape Song
for Cowboy Ron,
You’re right.
Eight years old with a floursack cape
Tied all around his neck
He climbed up on the garage
He’s figurin’ what the heck
Well, he screwed up his courage up so tight
That the whole thing come unwound
He got a runnin’ start and bless his heart
He’s headed for the ground
Well (yes) he’s one of those who knows that life
Is just a leap of faith
Spread your arms and hold your breath
And always trust your cape
Now he’s all grown up with a floursack cape
Tied all around his dreams
And he’s full of spit and vinegar
And he’s bustin’ at the seams
Well, he licked his finger and he checked the wind
It’s gonna be do or die
He wasn’t scared of nothin’ boys
He was pretty sure he could fly
Well (yes) he’s one of those who knows that life
Is just a leap of faith
Spread your arms and hold your breath
And always trust your cape
Now he’s old and gray with a floursack cape
Tied all around his head
He’s still jumpin’ off the garage
And will be till he’s dead
All these years the people said
He was actin’ like a kid
He did not know he could not fly
So he did
Well (yes) he’s one of those who knows that life
Is just a leap of faith
Spread your arms and hold your breath
And always trust your cape
They were waiting for me…
I Am A: Chaotic Good Half-OrcRanger Paladin
Alignment:
Chaotic Good characters are independent types with a strong belief in the value of goodness. They have little use for governments and other forces of order, and will generally do their own things, without heed to such groups.
Race:
Half-Orcs are a cross between a human and an orc. Generally, this kind of mating does not occur willingly, so half-orcs are almost never raised by a full set of parents. They tend to be less intelligent and attractive than humans, but are generally stronger and hardier. Violence is a part of their nature, and few half-orcs manage to overcome this to follow other professions. They are generally treated with disdain by other races, if not outright hostility.
Primary Class:
Rangers are the defenders of nature and the elements. They are in tune with the Earth, and work to keep it safe and healthy.
Secondary Class:
Paladins are the Holy Warriors. They have been chosen by a God/dess to be their representative on Earth, and must follow the code of that deity, or risk severe penalties. They tend towards being righteous, but not generally to excess.
Deity:
Shaundakul is the Chaotic Good god of travel and exploration. He is also known as the Rider of the Winds. His followers are typically rangers, and work to protect the land. They typically wear leather armor, and carry long swords and short bows. Shaundakul’s symbol is a white hand with the index finger raised.

New Neopedia Story!
http://www.neopets.com/neopedia.phtml?neopedia_id=192
And another one tomorrow… Three in one week! New record!
On Radio Margaritaville
Love in the Library
On the corner of government and bay avenue
The old doomsday fanatic wore a crown of kudzu
Sirens were wailing in the gulf coastal heat
And it seemed like the whole world was in forced retreat
Paid no attention, revolved through the door
Past the newspaper racks on the worn marble floor
Near civil war history my heart skipped a beat
She was standing in fiction stretched high on bare feet
Love in the library
Quiet and cool
Love in the library
There are no rules
Surrounded by stories
Surreal and sublime
I fell in love in the library
Once upon a time
I was the pirate, she was the queen
Sir francis and elizabeth, the best there’s ever been
Then she strolled past my table and stopped at the stairs
Then sent me a smile as she reached for Flaubert
Love in the library
Quiet and cool
Love in the library
There are no rules
Surrounded by stories
Surreal and sublime
I fell in love in the library
Once upon a time
She gathered her books, walked while she read
Words never spoken, but so much was said
You can read all you want into this rendezvous
But it’s safer than most things that lovers can do
Well stories have endings, fantasies fade
And the guard by the door starts drawing the shade
So write your own ending and hope it comes true
For the lovers and strangers on bay avenue
Love in the library
Quiet and cool
Love in the library
There are no rules
Surrounded by stories
Surreal and sublime
I fell in love in the library
Once upon a time
Surrounded by stories
Surreal and sublime
I fell in love in the library
Once upon a time
