Because when it’s good, it’s very good.
And when it’s bad… there’s nothing worse.

He’s gone…

He leaves behind a legacy · He was the Last Lord Strange.
He leaves behind a ring · He never learned its secret.
He leaves behind knowledge · A library of vampire lore few have ever seen.
He leaves behind a woman he never kissed · But desperately wanted to.

He leaves behind a little girl.

I’m all giddy

A little ten year old girl just wrote a poem about The Gray Faerie. She sent it in to the site, and Dannie forwarded it to me.

Man. If I didn’t need to make my car payment this month (and rent, and the phone, and electricity, and insurance…), I’d be likely saying, “My work here is done.”

Parking Tickets

For some reason, Lady Fate has deemed I should carry the Curse of Parking Tickets. I’ve gotten 6 in 4 months.

This is a first for me. I’ve never had a parking ticket before in my life. Well, at least there’s something new in my life — I’d rather it be someone, but something will do for the moment. 🙂

Thinking of my grandfather

HE WENT TO PARIS

He went to Paris lookin’ for answers
To questions that bothered him so
He was impressive, young and aggressive
Savin’ the world on his own

But the warm summer breezes
The French wines and cheeses
Put his ambition at bay
The summers and winters
Scattered like splinters
And four or five years slipped away

Then he went to England, played the piano
And married an actress named Kim
They had a fine life, she was a good wife
And bore him a young son named Jim

And all of the answers and all of the questions
Locked in his attic one day
‘Cause he liked the quiet clean country livin’
And twenty more years slipped away

Well the war took his baby, the bombs killed his lady
And left him with only one eye
His body was battered, his whole world was shattered
And all he could do was just cry

While the tears were a-fallin’ he was recallin’
Answers he never found
So he hopped on a freighter, skidded the ocean
And left England without a sound

Now he lives in the islands, fishes the pilin’s
And drinks his Green Label each day
Writing his memoirs, losin’ his hearin’
But he don’t care what most people say

Through eighty-six years of perpetual motion
If he likes you he’ll smile and he’ll say
“Jimmy, some of it’s magic, some of it’s tragic
But I had a good life all the way”

And he went to Paris lookin’ for answers
To questions that bothered him so

Finally…

No, the Rock has not come back to Electric Wickedland, although my new Neopets story is up for perusal:

I tried to help a friend today. It didn’t work out. That makes me sad.

I spent the whole weekend running the TT Vampire game for my friends. That makes me happy. They’re so close to the end of it all. Closer than they know.

Something is happening to me. I’m… I don’t know. Maybe I’m figuring out who I am again. Or, who I want to be. I’m still lost in the fog, but I think I can see the lighthouse.
