Your Birthdate: December 10 |
![]() Your birth on the 10th day of the month adds a tone of independence and extra energy to your life. The number 1 energy suggest more executive ability and leadership qualities than you path may have indicated. A birthday on the 10th of any month gives greater will power and self-confidence, and very often a rather original approach. This 1 energy may diminish your ability and desire to handle details, preferring instead to paint with a broad brush. |

New Narnia Trailer
There’s a whole lot of fighting in these. I’m hoping they’re taking a lot from the Big Battle to make it look like LotR for the Dummies. Otherwise… well, there’s a whole lot of fighting. š
(But DAMN, the Snow Queen got her Evil goin’ on!) š

Playing in theglare‘s Sabbat larp last night, I had a strange realization.
I am not a safe player.
I throw my characters into situations I know are dangerous. Thinking back on Walker putting himself in that grave, accepting an invitation to tea with a Malkavian elder, trying to protect a little girl (who happens to be a Tzimisce), and just about every other stupid thing he ever did…
I guess I just like throwing myself into the story head-first. I’m not cautious with my characters. Perhaps that’s because I know I’m not a one-trick pony. I’ve got so many characters in my head, losing just one of them doesn’t mean much to me. Even if a character dies, I’ve still got the character. My only loss is not being able to play that character in the venue anymore.
I like risk.
And with that in mind, I get ready for tonight’s game and ponder exactly what kind of trouble I can throw myself into.

New Orleans is Just “Background Noise” to Our President
(thanks to xianvox)
WASHINGTON (Reuters) –
President George W. Bush said on Thursday he was focused on doing his job rather than the “background noise” of a series of political headaches that have hurt his popularity.
Yeah… can’t be distracted from the real goal: making sure Halliburton gets all the money it can.
Whistle Down the Wind
Well, I grew up here all of my life, and I dreamed someday Iād go
Where the blue-eyed girls, and the red guitars, and the naked rivers flow
Now Iām not all I thought Iād be, Iāve always stayed around
Iāve been as far as Mercy and Grand, frozen to the ground
But I canāt stay here, and Iām scared to leave
So kiss me once, and then
Iāll go to hell
I might as well
be whistlinā down the wind
The bus is at the corner, the clock on the wall
Broken down windmill, there aināt no wind at all
And I yelled and I cursed, if I stay here Iāll rust
And Iām stuck like a shipwreck out here in the dust
The sky is red, and the world is on fire, and the corn is taller than me
And the dog is tied to a wagon of rain, and the road is wet as the sea
And sometimes the music from a dance will carry across the plains
And the places that Iām dreaming of, do they dream only of me?
There are places where they never sleep, and the circus never ends
So I will take the Marleybone coach, and be whistlinā down the wind
So I will take the Marleybone coach, and be whistlinā down the wind
Weekend Update
I had a very lazy weekend. (It isn’t even over yet and I’m wrapping it up.)
Friday was hanging out.
Saturday was hanging out.
Saturday night was the long haul down to Riverside for the Cam game. I got to play with my friends. That was fun. Met some new people. fallentyrant was the Dark, Scary Prince from Hell. trekhead was a busy kicking ass and chewing bubble gum (and he was all out of bubblegum). learsfool had her Little Girl Lost going full-throttle. theglare gathered the power. pouncykitten and I renewed our mutual WP rejuvination. I got to make the Prince laugh. It was a good night. ST Dave rocks my socks.
Sunday… hanging out.
I got a lot of writing done. I’ve got Alchemy figured out for Secret. I just need to write the final draft. Next comes Summoning. Need to study my Goetia.
Anatomy of a Drum Solo
Anatomy of a Drum Solo presents newly-recorded, in-studio footage of Neil discussing, in detail, his approach to soloing. Using a solo recorded in September, 2004 in Frankfurt, Germany, as a framework, Neil talks about each segment of this nine-minute tour de force that is a feature of each Rush performance. He describes the inspiration and the conceptual thinking behind each part of the solo and discusses, and often demonstrates, the technique necessary for playing that segment.
Also included are two āexplorationsā — completely improvised workouts at the drums, each over thirty-minutes long; a never-before-released solo recorded in Hamburg, Germany in September, 2004 (“Ich Bin Ein Hamburger”); āO Bateristaā, Neil’s Grammy(r) Award-nominated solo (previously released on the Rush in Rio DVD); two full Rush performances from Frankfurt ā04, all shot from the perspective of the drum cameras; interviews with Lorne Wheaton, Neilās drum tech, and Paul Northfield, Rush co-producer and engineer; a full-color booklet, a photo gallery and more.
