Lord Strange

I first read the name in 1st Edition Chill. I bought the boxed set at The Source of Comics and Games in St. Paul. It intrigued me. I went to the library and found out it was a real hereditary title. My first Chill character was an ancestor of the Lord Strange who helped found S.A.V.E.

Years later, I’d forgotten about it.

Two years ago, I started playing in the Camarilla. My character, William Walker, was the unintentional inheritor of the title “Lord Strange.” His father was the member of a secret society devoted to protecting the English Throne from occult terrorism. Poor William… never knew his father. When the old man died, this American detective inherited the title with no idea of what he had just received.

I hadn’t remembered the Chill connection until asked me to contribute to Chill 3rd Edition. There, waiting for me, was Lord Strange.

At the first Gen Con So Cal, my badge read “Lord Strange.” Nobody said anything. They were keeping the secret.

Anyway, I have some thoughts on magic. Actually, a lot of them. And I’ll be keeping them over at . If you’re curious, feel free to check them out.

All of this is leading up to my Great Work. THIRTY is the prelude. The First Movement will begin shortly thereafter.

I’m gettin on in years. It’s time to make something that means something. See, one of the reasons things like G/N/S doesn’t mean anything to me is… well, there’s all this effort put toward what roleplaying games are… and so little attention put toward making them what they could be.

That’s all.

Enjoy.
