I miss somebody right now. I don’t watch much TV these days. I own lots of books.
I wear glasses or contact lenses. × I love to play video games. I’ve tried marijuana.
I’ve watched porn movies. I have been the psycho-ex in a past relationship. × I believe honesty is usually the best policy.  (The Plato in me says, “Yes.” The Machiavelli in me says, “Are you fucking kidding?”)
I curse sometimes. I have changed a lot mentally over the last year. × I carry my knife/razor everywhere with me.  (I used to.)

it goes on…

Drove home from a fun party and hanging out with friends when Bob Dylan came on the radio. The song was “With God on Our Side.” The final words in the last refrain struck me hard.

The words fill my head
And fall to the floor
If God’s on our side
He’ll stop the next war.

Mr. Dylan, with all due respect, it doesn’t look like he’s all that interested in stopping this one.

This coupled with another song that suddenly popped into my head. An ELP song called “I Believe in Father Christmas.” Again, the last lines:

They said there’d be snow at Christmas
They said there’d be peace on Earth
Hallelujah
noel! Be it Heaven or Hell
The Christmas we get we deserve.

Death to all tyrants and let freedom ring.

THE FRIDAY RANT

In any roleplaying game, mechanics are crutches for weak players. The more mechanics the game has, the lower the designer’s opinion of his players.

I believe in the people who play my games.

Some games believe their players are cripples.

This, I believe

NPR is running a series called “This, I believe.” The series “invites you to write about the core beliefs that guide your daily life.”

On a whim, I decided to give it a try. I wrote a 500 word essay and submitted it. I’ll let you know if anything comes of it.

In the meantime, if you’re curious, here’s the essay:

I Believe…

I passed my Fellowcraft proficiency.
By the end of July, I will know the Master word.

God’s Perfect Message

One of the tenants of (most versions of) Christianity is “God’s Word.” By this obscure phrase, I mean that the Bible is an innerant message, coming directly from God’s mouth. Or, at the very least, that it was inspired by God and written by mortal men.

If this is true, it should have some evidence behind it. I give you the prosecution’s Exibit A for the case to the contrary.

Go here and clink on the “Preaching Hate” video. It’s about 7 minutes long.

After watching that, please demonstrate to me how the Bible is anything other than a long list of obscurity than can be translated any way that anyone wants.

It is not a coherant message. It is not a coherant message. It is not a coherant message.

And God Hates Fags.*
