Texas voters have passed a constitutional amendment that bans same-sex marriage and civil unions.
But the new group, Save Texas Marriage, is bringing a new message into the fray. They say that because of flawed language, Proposition 2, promoted by supporters as an effort to protect traditional marriage, would in fact ban marriage as we know it.
The actual language of the Proposition:
“The constitutional amendment providing that marriage in this state consists only of the union of one man and one woman and prohibiting this state or a political subdivision of this state from creating or recognizing any legal status identical or similar to marriage.”
Meanwhile…
“At the risk of re-igniting the same heated nationwide debate it sparked six years ago, the Kansas Board of Education approved new public school science standards Tuesday that cast doubt on the theory of evolution.
“In addition, the board rewrote the definition of science, so that it is no longer limited to the search for natural explanations of phenomena.”
Friends, when you ask me why I think religion is dangerous… just take a look around. You’ll see why.
