Tossed about by Lady Fate and Dame Fortune

I don’t know what happened last night. It’s still a blur.

Three things last night. Priorities. Who do I pick? Well, work comes first, so I pick work.

I was supposed to have dinner with co-workers… until the very last second. Waiting around in the office… waiting… waiting… I ask. “Oh, that’s been cancelled.”

Shit.

I hop in my car. Rain, rain, rain. Californians don’t know how to drive in the rain. Stuck in traffic… looking at the time… looking at the time… Where are the…

Directions…

Shit.

On the cel. Nobody knows. “Come see X-2,” they tell me. “We’ve already gotten you a ticket.”

Shit.

I didn’t like the first one all that much. Everyone says this one is better. Okay. Otherwise, it’s laundry.

X-2 was fun. Like roller coaster fun. And, I think I made a new friend. That was a surprise. And it felt so good to be able to talk to someone who’s body chemistry isn’t dominated by testosterone. I’ve had too much of that lately.

L5R tonight. I should be planning. Plotting. Preparing. But all I can do is think about last night…

I once wrote that Lady Fate and Dame Fortune are playing a game with the world. That’s how I felt last night. Both of them had plans for me, and both tried to assert those plans. One of them won out. I’m not sure which one did.
