“Late Wednesday, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-N.Y., a possible presidential candidate in 2008, revealed that she would vote against the measure. “As I have said in the past, I support federal legislation that would outlaw flag desecration, much like laws that currently prohibit the burning of crosses, but I don’t believe a constitutional amendment is the answer,” she said in a statement.”
She’s a dumb bitch.
The entire point of the First Amendment is to protect unpopular political speech, not reinforce what people want to hear.
If the Congress wants to make a prohibition on the First Amendment, why don’t we hear them shouting about the American Nazi Party? Or the KKK? Why? WHY???
Because those assholes are protected by the First Amendment, just like you and I. And just like anyone who burns a flag in protest.
Next time I go to a protest, I’m not burning a flag. I’m burning the Bill of Rights. Because that’s exactly what our government is doing.
